Happy Birthday Simon

Wow this first month has flown by! It is still hard to believe that he is mine sometimes. Some things Simon likes to do these days...eat, sleep, and soil his undies! He recognizes his daddy's voice and follows it and he is also starting to focus more. He weighs 10lb 3oz and is 22in long. Of course he experienced many firsts in his first month...1st Easter, 1st family reunion, 1st trip to Alabama, 1st doctors appts and many more. Can't wait to see what God has in store for the rest of his sweet little life! Simon found his First Easter Egg! (and looks like he broke his neck doing it)

Simon's first week

Simon had a really good first week...I on the other hand had some moments of feeling helpless. I was so emotional that I had a breakdown about not being able to even go to the grocery store! Bryce started running fever and missed 2 days of school and I couldn't take him to the doctor...thank goodness mom was able to take off work and take him. He had bronchitis and was ordered not to get around Simon. That was really hard because Simon's every need is met by me and then Bryce needed me too...especially the night he had an allergic reaction to the Zpac they gave him! But we survived and have a few pics to remember the week by...enjoy.

Simon and Bryce's hospital pics...I don't think they look alike.

Welcome Simon!

April 7, 2011, at 1:19p.m. we welcomed little Simon to our family. He weighed 7lb 12oz and was 20 in long. He was born at North Mississippi Medical Center Women's Hospital in Tupelo, MS. Here are some photos of the delivery and our days in the hospital.

We are counting them down!

The days till Simon is here that is. Every morning Bryce gets up and tells me how many days until Simon is here. He really doesn't have to inform me that it's almost time...my body is telling me that fact!

Last Wednesday I became officially 9months pregnant! I had my OB appt on Friday and he told me Simon wasn't quite ready. Still too high...I'm sorry has he seen how low I'm carrying this baby? And not dialated which really came as a surprise because it was Spring Break and at Hodges Orthodontics that means busting your butt to see as many patients you can in 3 days. I just knew all that hustling would cause dialation of just a little bit.

Speaking of work, it is just now hitting me that I will not have a job after April 1. I have been at Hodges for over 6 1/2 years and it just hasn't really set in that I won't have to get up and get ready everyday. No more teeth, no more braces, no more labwork. NO MORE PAYCHECK!!! Oh that one hit hard. It has been 7 years since we have been a one income family and I'm so nervous. I am very anal about paying my bills and when they get paid and now I won't have that cushion every other week when I get paid. Eric and I prayed really hard about this decision and we feel that it was the one God had planned for us but it's still hard to not be nervous.

I almost have Simon's room finished. I'm just waiting on a book shelf/toy chest. I'm also waiting on his diaper bag that I ordered. Looks like he may be here before the shelf and diaper bag...I'm contemplating buying a diaper bag to make do until the other one comes in. As for now we are just waiting...not too many more days left. As Bryce would say " Only 23 more days left till Simon."
